It’s official.
As revealed by TV Tonight on Friday, James Blunt, Chris Isaak and Guy Sebastian will join Dannii Minogue as judges on The X Factor.
Sunday Telegraph has “exclusively” confirmed the names today.
It follows the newspaper “exclusively” revealing Home and Away as the Hall of Fame inductee for today’s Logie Awards -more than three weeks after it was published here.
…just sayin’!

The voice have Jessie j, Ricky Martin and the brothers, and delta.. I’m not sure which demographic the x factor is going for , I won’t be watching this…
A strange line-up. Chris Isaak is very left field.
Guy Sebastian will be there to tie in with an November album release.
I said this before, I’ll say it again. Dannii Minogue carries a great deal of credibility as a judge from her days on Young Talent Time. In the original configuration of this show as “Australia’s Got Talent”, she had Red Symonds and Tom Burlinson either side as co-judges. Symonds could be, at times could be a bit “harsh” but he still had the credibility needed for the role, as did Tom Burlinson. The rot really set in when they brought in Kyle Sandilands, who wouldn’t know talent if he tripped over it. I gave up on the show after that. Now as “X-Factor”, the only other credible judge is Chris Isaacs. The other two, Blunt and Sebastian carry no weight at all as judges, they haven’t been around long enough in the industry to warrant them being entrusted with such a role. The better choices would be to bring back Burlinson and Symonds, or get two more ex-Young Talent Timers, either Tina…
yay. this is an amazing panel and so glad to have guy back. he was amazing with 2 wins on the show already. i love james blunt too. not a huge fan of chris but will get on board his music. this season will do incredible for x factor aust.
Big Mistake! Terrible line up I have to say- I don’t mind Dannii & Guy but it won’t work with the other judge’s, ratings will keep dropping — New host? The Voice is more of a stronger show great line up of judge’s that are relevant to today’s music.
James Blunt – despite the awful music – is absolutely hilarious and a top bloke. Chris Isaak is an odd but interesting choice. I have no time for Dannii or Guy. Still won’t be watching any of these singing shows though.
James Blunt has a pretty good sense of humour.
I think this judging lineup will be great this year. People were skeptical about Mel B and Redfoo when they were brought on but they turned out to be great additions their first years. People will be surprised
I like this panel. Chris Isaack is the coolest dude on the planet and very funny. I remember suggesting him for xfactor on this blog a year or two ago.. Guy and Dannii are awesome. James is the only one I am not sure about but he is a former soldier so he will be no pushover and is an interesting choice.
Yeah, Chris is very cool and has a quirky sense of humour.
Normally don’t watch the Z Factor but may watch this year just for Chris
Ha ! Of course meant to say the X Factor.
Although at times it could be Z…
very disappointing lineup, Guy Sebastian is only good person in there
Everyone might be surprised with the judges, think it will work well for the viewers, Isaak might not be too well know to the younger generation but his experience in music will be good, and I am sure that he has been keeping up with the type of music that is popular today and what the younger generation wants will give him the edge. Have to wait and see, but much prefer this show to The Voice, as the judges there seem to be more interested in themselves than the contestants.
Chris Isaak will be given the over 25s to mentor, it’s a given.
David- I read this on DT site last night. You usually are the first though.
Yes but David posted the rumour on Friday.
The good old Telegraph. Easier to poach a story than actually research one. I particularly like that you always credit your source. I don’t think anyone gives the Telegraph any credibility anyway.
No actually you’re wrong, they had the story on their page last night.
Not the most exciting line up. I’m surprised Guy Sebastian isn’t spending much of the back half of the year on promo tours in Europe to take advantage of the exposure he’ll get from his Eurovision appearance.
Disappointing -_-
I have a feeling the new season might be a flop. X Factor is going to be up against The Voice who have way more popular and cooler judges.
And that’s where the problem lies with the Voice. It’s all about the judges and not the talent. X Factor will do fine with this panel. Let’s see how it plays out
Good on ya David, this already confirms what I already know ,that is ,this is the site to be for most of the first run TV info, keep it up.
