Tonight’s edition of the AFL Footy Show is in Tasmania, as the show broadcasts Live from Wrest Point Casino (borrowing an idea from The Don Lane Show perhaps?).

Tonight, in a special edition, The Footy Show invades Tasmania as we take Garry Lyon back to his birthplace. See the homecoming Live at 9.00pm on Channel Nine.

He left before he’d even learnt to walk and it wasn’t until four weeks ago that anyone knew of his true heritage. So just how will the locals react to the return of their long-lost prodigal son?

Joining the boys on the panel in Tassie are Nick Dal Santo and local lad Jack Riewoldt ahead of their clash down south this weekend.

Sam Newman has ventured out around Hobart for Street Talk in search of more colourful characters, and Garry suits up for a Live Certainty Stunt – what could possibly go wrong? Newsbreaker Damian Barrett will also be in to deliver all the latest footy stories.

After his hilarious opening at the Logies last Sunday, Dave Hughes returns to the Footy Show stage with his take on the week in footy, with Billy Brownless and Shane Crawford along for the ride.

Plus, Sam delivers his Mailbag, Almost Footy Legends, and a few other surprises tonight on The Footy Show – Live from Tasmania at 9.00pm on Nine.

  1. its a shame that the AFL Footy Show airs so late here in Sydney (and Brisbane). The NRL version always runs overtime, and Nine always insists of airing double episodes of either Two and a Half Men or Anger Management, meaning that we have to wait an hour between shows. Surely a single episode of these comedies or a “Nine Presents” can cater as a filler rather than wait til past midnight to watch the show

  2. I had heard about this on The Rush Hour yesterday but was wondering if they might have to cancel. There’s been apparently 100km an hour winds there today, I was wondering if Itd be safe to fly in.
