Ben Ross will undergo surgery this afternoon after last night’s horrific arm wrestling challenge backfired on live television.

Ross described breaking his humerus on The Footy Show as “the most painful thing I’ve ever had.”

“There’a massive break so there will be a fair few plates and a lot of rehabilitation,” he said.

“This is probably the most painful thing I’ve ever had but I suppose it’s something I’m accustomed to.”

Wendell Sailor told Sunrise this morning, “I feel so sorry for Ben. You could hear it snap and no one knew what happened.

“He’s in good spirits. I texted him, he said: ‘don’t feel bad, I’m ok mate’. He said ‘you actually haven’t won, I’ll do your left hand when I’m back’.

“It was all done properly … it was just an unfortunate accident” a Nine spokesperson said last night. “We all wish him well.”

  1. Have the lawyers started circling Ben Ross yet? Here in Canberra the ambulance chasers have ads for claiming compensation almost every commercial break on TV and radio. It’s getting almost as bad as the constant funeral insurance ads during the daytime programs.
