MINOR SPOILER:

This Thursday’s episode of MasterChef includes a twist that has been featured in previous seasons -eliminated contestants have a second chance to re-enter the competition.

In Season One both Poh and Justine were eliminated and returned to the contest.

Who will benefit this year?

The contestants are told that today’s challenge is all about a dish that has caused more problems any other dish in the history of MasterChef Australia – the humble pie. They have 90 minutes, an open pantry and use of the garden to create a delicious pie. The contestant with the least impressive dish will be eliminated from the competition.

But the judges also reveal that everybody deserves a second chance and that all previously eliminated contestants have one more chance to cook their way back into the competition.

The returning 14 contestants are told they have 60 minutes to create a delicious dish. The winner of this round must then cook off against the recently eliminated contestant from the pie challenge. The contestant who wins the third and final round will earn the last coveted spot in the top 10.

7:30pm Thursday on TEN.

  1. I thought the “dish that has caused more problems any other dish in the history of MasterChef” was risotto but that aside I agree with Aeddie, bring another bloke back.

  2. It’s usually one of the last 3 or 4 to be eliminated, so … John!

We’ve missed his attempts to create the perfect … umm, I was going to say “white chocolate & lobster bisque”, but apparently that’s a real thing…

  3. I knew the eliminated contestants were going to get a second chance sooner or later. It happens every year. I hope one of the male contestants is coming back in (either Jarrod, Kha or John).
