NBC will no longer air the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, both owned by Donald Trump following his comments during his run for the US presidency.

“At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values,” the company said in a statement. “Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump.”

Trump had previously declared, “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” he said. “They’re sending people that have a lot of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

The move follows Univision also parting ways with his pageants four days earlier.

Trump had already announced that he would not be participating in NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice due to his White House run, but the show will continue, licensed by Mark Burnett’s United Artists Media Group.

Trump released a formal statement declaring NBC weak, and like everybody else “is trying to be politically correct.”

“As far as ending the relationship, I have to do that, because my view of immigration is different from the folks at NBC,” Trump said. “I told NBC, I just can’t change my stance.”

Trump has also indicated he plans to take legal action.

“Their contract violating closure of Miss Universe/Miss USA will be determined in court.”

    1. That’s it. Accusing all Mexicans of being like members of the cartels. The wall is actually and extension of official US policy under the Secure Fence Act 2006. However, they can only afford to cover part of the border and there are still 500,000 illegal crossing annually.

Obama and the DOJ are willfully not enforcing and even obstructing the enforcement of US immigration law because to do so would cost the Democrats their lead in the Hispanic vote. The many Republicans refuse to agree to any sensible law reform making it impossible for them to win.

Jeb Bush and Rubio are proposing immigration reform, so Trump has to oppose them to get funding and support from the right of the party. Being Trump he is doing it stupidly targeting the Republican’s shrinking right wing white male uneducated base. NBC needs to attract Hispanics and Liberals so can’t tolerate Trump.

  1. Do we really think he stands a chance of becoming the next US President? If he runs as an independent he’ll just split the Republican vote and make it easier for the new Clinton to be President.

    1. Well, they elected both Ronald Reagan and George Bush after having experienced 4 years of them bumbling and fumbling through economic and foreign policy. If trump nominates the creature living on his head as vice-president he’ll be a shoe-in.

    2. Few pundits would’ve expected Obama to beat Hilary before any of the primaries began, so I wouldn’t be ruling him out of getting the Republican nomination just yet. He was polling very well 4 years ago before deciding not to nominate and he was running 2nd to Bush in the latest TV polls I saw of Republican voters. He’s more outspoken than Bush which if nothing else will probably get him more publicity.

I’d suspect Hilary will be the next President but the recent Supreme Court rulings on both Obamacare and gay marriage can’t help but energise the Republican base to the point where I’d be surprised if their voter turnout wasn’t a fair bit higher than the last election.

  2. “Trump had already announced that he would not be participating in NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice due to his White House, but…”

What?? Was his White House feeling lonely and not want him to leave? Maybe Donald will be too busy renovating his white house, or painting it red!! Ha ha.

  3. He’s no loss, if anything the Apprentice can only be better without him. In the early years of the show he stuck to his role, but over time his ego took over and he couldn’t help but be a complete ‘d***’ most of the time. Heaven help us if this clot becomes President!
