Returning: Plonk

Adelaide viewers will get to see the South Australian-filmed comedy before the rest of Nine's audience.

Next week Nine Adelaide will premiere Season Two of “Wine TV comedy” Plonk featuring Chris Taylor, Joshua Tyler and Nathan Earl.

The series has just premiered on Stan but will air on Nine in Adelaide at 9pm Tuesday July 7, featuring SA wine destinations. South Australian Tourism has put some money into the second season (with an appearance by premiere Jay Wetherill).

Nine Adelaide Managing Director, Sean O’Brien, said today: “After seeing Plonk on Stan we had to show this brilliant production to our local viewers.

“Our state is the star in this irreverent take-off on the television industry and I have no doubts that viewers will love the send-up of our unique food and wine regions.”

So far there are no timeslots confirmed for other cities which is getting Embarrassing Bodies Down Under, but it is likely to be scheduled at a later point.

The Adelaide Hills, Barossa, Clare Valley, McLaren Vale, Coonawarra and Adelaide City will come to life when the hilarious Plonk returns for a second vintage on Tuesday, July 7, after The Voice on Channel Nine Adelaide.

Follow the continuing adventures of Plonk’s hapless TV crew, including Chris Taylor from The Chaser’s War on Everything, Barossa-born Joshua Tyler and the show’s creator Nathan Earl, as they bumble, fumble and embarrass their way around South Australia’s world-class wineries for six weeks, leaving a path of destruction in their wake

Joining the cast for season two are food legend Maggie Beer, comedian Greg Fleet, fellow Chaser Andrew Hansen, SA Premier Jay Weatherill, and many of the unseen stars from our state’s best known vineyards.

 

Plonkseason two is a One Stone Pictures production made in association with ITV Studios Australia and supported by Screen Australia, the South Australian Tourism Commission, South Australian Film Corporation, Channel Nine and Wine Selectors.

9pm Tuesday, July 7, on Channel Nine Adelaide.

  1. I asked Chris Taylor about this recently. Plonk was made for online and then TEN repackaged it into 3 eps I think for broadcast. Nine got involved for S2 so it chose to use it via Stan first.
