Stan has announced two new first-run titles with US drama Power plus TV adaptation Ash vs Evil Dead and ballet drama Flesh & Bone, with the first episode of the latter directed by Aussie David Michod.

All three hail from US cable network Starz.

From executive producer and star Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and show creator Courtney Kemp Agboh (The Good Wife), the crime drama Power is set in two different worlds: the glamorous New York club scene and the city’s brutal drug trade. The first two episodes of Season 2, and the entire first season, premiered exclusively on Stan yesterday. New episodes will be made available every Sunday within hours of the initial US broadcast.

Filmmakers Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Rob Tapert have reunited for Ash vs Evil Dead, currently in production in New Zealand. Expected to premiere late in 2015, with the first episode co-written and directed by Sam Raimi, it will screen same day as the US broadcast.

In November comes Flesh and Bone, described as a ‘dark, gritty, complex series that unflinchingly explores the dysfunction and glamour of the ballet world and the inherent drama of New York City.’ An eight-hour limited series created by Moira Walley-Beckett (Breaking Bad), the first episode will be directed by Australian filmmaker David Michôd (Animal Kingdom, The Rover).

Stan will also have The White Queen from August.

“We’re committed to bringing the best premium, first-run TV shows exclusively to Stan at the same time as they’re available in the US. I can’t think of a better partner than Starz Digital to help fulfill those ambitions with their popular Starz Original series programming,” Nick Forward, Stan’s Content and Product Director, said.

“Starz has a long history of producing some of the world’s most innovative and challenging dramas and their 2015 lineup is one of the strongest yet.”
