In America, the land of perpetual awards, the Television Critics Association has announced the nominees for their 31st Annual TCA Awards.

But they may hint at Emmy nominations which will be announced on July 16.

Empire and Transparent lead the pack with four nods each.

Jane the Virgin, Mad Men and The Americans follow with three nominations each.

Hate to pick a winner in the Heritage Award: Friends, Late Show/Late Night with David Letterman, The Shield, Star Trek and Twin Peaks. By rights it should go to Star Trek

The 31st Annual TCA Awards will be held Saturday, Aug. 8th.
