Adam Hills unleashes on British pollies

Adam Hills began by taking aim at the UK govt's lack of commitment to child poverty. And then he really fired up...

Warning: Language.

Adam Hills has made another outburst on The Last Leg.

This time Hills opened by criticising the British government’s lack of commitment to child poverty.

“How are the government dealing with the fact that they may not reach the legally-binding target of fewer than one in 10 children in poverty by 2020? They’re going to try to scrap the target,” he said.

“Not only that, it’s reported that they may also change the definition of poverty, in order to lower the numbers of children in poverty.

“Wow! If we’ve learned one thing from this government, it’s that politicians really love screwing vulnerable children!”

But it was after that that he decided to turn up the heat…

  1. “Many a true word is spoken in jest” or from the lips of a comedian. Adam wouldn’t be the only person to highlight political skullduggery but his comments are tolerated because he is an “entertainer”.

  2. Massive Hillsy fan. This show is revolutionary – the key fact is that it is a comedy show with guys with disabilities and yet that is the least interesting part about them. Fab cast, Hillsy and writers are amazing – I hope anyone reading will give it a go because it is amazing and one of MH fave shows ever

  3. Adam Hills, the guy who called Joan Rivers a d–k then tweeted about how sad he was that she had died… Sums up his credibility rut there

Also getting really sick of “comedians” getting on their soap boxes about these issues, kinda like those people on Facebook who post stuff just fishing for likes, honestly just stfu and make us laugh, if you wanna talk about politics and be taken seriously, get into politics and stop lecturing everyone with this tokenistic lip service crap

    1. I think you’ve completely missed the point of where comedy can come from, it’s more than simply making someone laugh. And just because he is a comedian, doesn’t mean he can’t have his say, whether you agree with it or not.

  4. I find his rants a bit irritating and don’t agree with everything he says. In the same show, he was saying Britain should allow thousands of African refugees to pour across the border from France. Really?

  5. I can’t disagree with the sentiment; yet for someone who trades on being “a really nice person”, I’m not sure how this part of the act fits.
