We all occasionally dream of giving up the day job and moving away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. But some people take their desire to get a way from it all to the extremes. Ben Fogle travels the far reaches of the planet to meet those who have chosen to live life off the grid.
Episode One: Australia
In Australia, Ben visits a former businessman who, after losing most of his life savings in the stock market crash of 1987, relocated to Restoration Island. Home to some of the world’s most dangerous animals, typical backyard pests include crocodiles, sharks and box jelly fish.

I read about this show and thought it sounded interesting so I decided watch it on the “revamped” SBS on demand site. What a mistake. What was once a pretty reliable catch up service is now clunky and slow, everything takes forever to load and navigation is difficult. Halfway through the program the screen suddenly went black (I still had sound) so I clicked back a bit only to have it recommence near the beginning again and again. I reloaded and clicked to halfway through and I got some stupid survey ad and then another black screen. SBS on demand has gone the way of tenplay and Nine jump in to be a totally frustrating and unwatchable catch up service. Bye bye SBS on demand.
