Netflix boss Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos has congratulated creatives from shows such as Bloodline, House of Cards and Orange is the New Black on their Emmy nominations today.

“We are deeply proud of our creative partners, the most gifted and visionary collaborators working in television today, and are honored by this morning’s Emmy nominations,” he said.

“To receive nods for such wide-ranging programming – House of Cards, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Orange is the New Black, Marvel’s Daredevil, Bloodline, Virunga, Derek Special, Chef’s Table, Grace and Frankie, Marco Polo, Hot Girls Wanted – is a humbling affirmation of our vibrant, diverse slate.”

Ben Mendelsohn, from Bloodline said, “As an actor who has spent twenty years trying to crack America, the day I reached the Bloodline set and found my name on a chair next to Sissy Spacek’s was the happiest of my working life. This has just matched it. Thank you, Daniel Zelman, Glenn and Todd Kessler, for creating, in Danny Rayburn, this absolute gift of a role and to Netflix for allowing me to bring him to life (and death). I am grateful beyond measure.”

Beau Willimon, Executive Producer/Showrunner, House of Cards said, “Everyone at House of Cards is thrilled by our nominations. Kevin, Robin and Michael were all on set when we found out. That triumvirate poured themselves into Season 3, along with all the folks behind the camera who make this show what it is. I’m especially happy for Michael Kelly. This is his first nomination and so well deserved. It’s always an honor to be recognized by our peers. It motivates us to keep making the show better. And congrats to Netflix for all its other nominations. We’re proud to be part of the Netflix family.’

Jenji Kohan Statement: creator and executive producer of Orange is the New Black added, “We’re proud to be the misfits who don’t fit in – comedy, drama, nobody knows what to do with us…and we like it that way. No matter what you call us, we’re honored to be recognized by the Academy with this nomination. On behalf of the entire cast, the writers, producers and crew, and so many others that work tirelessly on this show, this is really cool and we thank you.”
