Dust off the should pads, leg warmers and neon, Studio 10 is devoting an entire show to Bicentennial Year 1988 today, for no reason in particular.
Not only will Ita Buttrose, Jessica Rowe, Joe Hildebrand and Sarah Harris dress in their best Madonna, Flashdance, Cyndi Lauper, Miami Vice and Breakfast Club attire, but even the set, music and on-screen graphics and station idents will emulate the era. Fun!
Not sure if it will be switching from 16:9 to 4:3, though!
Special guests include:
Peter Faiman – Director of the mammoth television special “Australia Live” and blockbuster film “Crocodile Dundee”
Pete Waterman – the brains behind the hugely successful producing team of Stock Aitken & Waterman who produced Kylie Minogue’s biggest hits.
Sallyanne Atkinson – Lord Mayor of Brisbane during Expo ’88.
Henry Roth – Fashion expert
From 8:30am today on TEN.

Switched off, not into 80’s breakfast tv.
Sunrise was way better with Danny Green, boxing ring, Sam going top gun, lot’s of fun.
A bit of licence taken in the show. They used Rupert’s circular TEN logo rather than the X-rated TEN TV Australia logo which was introduced in the middle of 1988, the year they were featuring.
