Sunrise is reviewing whether Mark Latham will continue as a regular contributor following headlines this week for all the wrong reasons.

The robust ex-Labor leader quit his role writing for Fairfax after Buzzfeed Australia revealed the Twitter account @RealMarkLatham, was directly linked to his email address and had been trolling prominent women including Annabel Crabb, Mia Freedman, Leigh Sales and Lisa Wilkinson. He had also targeted Rosie Batty and transgender military officer Cate McGregor in his column.

News Corp reports Sunrise is now looking into the matter.

“While we welcome commentators on the show with a range of views, this situation warrants further investigation. In the meantime, he’s not currently booked to appear,” executive producer Michael Pell said in a statement.

  1. Funny how people are surprised that a Twitter account called RealMarkLatham has something to do with the real Mark Latham hahaha… Too often so called prominent people put themselves in the spotlight but then seem to get upset by not liking what a critic has to say about them.
