This week SBS 2’s The Feed investigates the recent shark attacks in NSW; explores the lives of older women living on the brink of homelessness; and sits down with Graham Burke, the man who will apparently sue you for torrenting.

Shark Culling
The North Coast of New South Wales has recently seen an unprecedented amount of shark attacks, with 12 incidents in as many months. Scientists point to many natural factors that could be causing the spike in shark activity, but with businesses and tourism suffering, people are talking about taking more extreme measures to ensure the preservation of human life and the future of their communities. But here’s the strange thing, less than 100km North in the Gold Coast, they haven’t had an attack in years. So what are they doing differently?

The New Homeless
It could be your mum, your grandmother and in the future it could be you. Older women who’ve led very conventional lives are the new face of homelessness. They gave up paid work to raise kids, have no savings or super, and are now struggling to keep a roof over their heads. The Feed speaks to mothers and grandmothers living on the edge, and asks what can be done to prevent younger women from ending up in the same situation.

Graham Burke
This is the man that can – and will – sue you for torrenting. On September 1 the new anti-piracy guidelines kick off in Australia and Graham Burke, co-founder of Village Roadshow, a man worth an estimated 153 million dollars according to BRW, will finally be able to ultimately sue you for pirating. But there’s a lot more to this man than you might think. He was instrumental in making the original Mad Max, The Matrix, the existence of Movie World and more. He’s given millions of dollars to both sides of government to lobby for piracy legislation and now The Feed sits down with him to get the full story. Just how far will he go to stamp out Australian piracy, will it actually work and what motivates him?

7:30pm weeknights on SBS 2.
