Oops. Winds of change hit Lisa Wilkinson.

"That seriously hurt!" Lisa Wilkinson admits after Canberra wind blows down a canopy onto her head live on air.

Live TV and weather are never particularly good friends, as Canberra demonstrated this morning when the wind blew down a canopy onto the head of Today‘s Lisa Wilkinson.

“This is the most interesting thing that’s happened all morning,” Karl Stefanovic joked.

Having the location advantage over rival Sunrise was not without a bit of bruising.

“That seriously hurt!” she admitted.

What will also hurt are yesterday’s figures for Sunrise. 411,000 viewers was their 2nd best audience this year, beating Today by 94,000 viewers.

Today will be hoping their Canberra broadcast this morning whips Sunrise from London.

  1. Why would anyone bother watching either sunrise or today to get the latest political news? Leave it to the professionals on sky news! After all you don’t go to a Holden dealer to buy a Mercedes Benz.

  2. What a trooper! If the same thing happened to one of the network’s young, skinny and blonde celebrities, they would not have handled the situation with such professionalism

  3. I’m a Sunrise viewer, but I had to change channels when Kochie in London tried to interview Julie Bishop in Canberra. Apart from the long delay after Julie’s answers, the London backdrop threw everything off. Sky News had excellent coverage in my opinion.

  4. ABC were literally rebroadcasting sections from the Today Show this morning, don’t know how you can criticise when they were on the ground with great interviews.
