US drama Tyrant has been renewed for a third season.

The drama created by Gideon Raff (Homeland), sees an American family drawn into the inner workings of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation. Bassam “Barry” Al-Fayeed (Adam Rayner), the youngest son of a war-torn country’s controversial dictator, returns to his homeland after a self-imposed 20-year exile in America, only to be forced back into the treacherous familial and national politics of his youth.

Season 2 of Tyrant was executive produced by Showrunner Howard Gordon, along with Glenn Gordon Caron, Chris Keyser, David Fury, Gideon Raff, Avi Nir and Hugh Fitzpatrick.

Tyrant‘s second season took the show to a new level thanks to the skill and direction of Howard, Chris and Glenn and their creative team, the exceptional cast and a story steeped in family, loyalty and intrigue,” Eric Schrier from FX Networks said. “We look forward to the next chapter and a sensational third season of Tyrant.”

The series last aired in Australia on ONE.

  1. Good news. I started watching the show without any high expectations, but it’s turned out to be a very gripping drama with complex characters set against a fascinating setting.

I wish Ten would hurry up and show season 2, otherwise I’ll have to watch it on DVD, as I did season 1.
