ABC to broadcast New Year’s Eve fireworks again

Is it that time of year already?
ABC will again broadcast Sydney fireworks on December 31st.
Eddie Perfect will host New Year’s Eve 2015 with a 4 hour Live broadcast from 8:30pm (includes recorded packages).
The team who brought you the Saturday Night Crack Up now brings you ABC TV’s New Year’s Eve Spectacular. Counting us down to the sensational fireworks on Sydney Harbour, Eddie Perfect will guide us through the biggest night of the year. New Year’s Eve 2015 will again be a four-hour live show from the forecourt of the Opera House at Bennelong Point, Sydney Harbour. The program will feature some of ABC TV’s key network talent as well as live musical, theatrical and comedic performances.
ABC Children’s (ABC KIDS/ABC3) will kick off the celebration with 30 mins packed with family friendly content from 8.30pm leading us into the 9pm family fireworks, launched by the winner of the ABC3 “Design your own Firework” competition.
This four-hour entertainment bonanza will feature a range of family friendly entertainment with the Pub Quiz, Year in Review, live crosses and musical performances leading up to the Midnight Fireworks. While the harbour is showered with fireworks, home viewers will be dazzled by a night of comedy, music and more celebrities than you can shake a sparkler at.

Well at least Eddie perfect will be much better then Lawrence mooney. That’s a step in the right direction. Hoping the rest won’t be as awful as last year.
Hope they get this broadcast right from the ABC.
I thought the ABC coverage was alright.
Great. After years of doing dreadful SD fireworks Nine will be in HD but no fireworks. Hilarious.
I dont know about scripted…but myself…I feel it needs tighter direction…..frequently seems to get lost…just me.
I recall the City of Sydney was going to put the coverage to tender after last year’s ABC contract expires, and the coverage was somewhat panned. Guess none of the networks wanted it?
