Bargain Hunt host Tim Wonnacott is stepping down as host of the BBC show amid bullying claims.

The alleged disagreement with producers led to an investigation by the BBC in September.

“I am pleased to have been part of Bargain Hunt for so many years and have thoroughly enjoyed every one of my, roughly, 1,200 programmes hunting out bargains with the contestants. Alongside continuing to voice Antiques Road Trip for the BBC, I look forward to developing new programme ideas,” he said.

The BBC said in a statement: “We would like to thank Tim Wonnacott for his dedication to Bargain Hunt over the last 12 years and for the great expertise that he has brought to the show in that time. Bargain Hunt will be moving in a new direction next year utilising a team of experts who present a number of shows each. Tim continues to work with the BBC on Antiques Road Trip.”

BBC has announced a team of experts will present Bargain Hunt from January onwards.

Wonnacott has presented the programme for 12 years.

Earlier this year BBC did not renew Jeremy Clarkson’s contract after he verbally and physically attacked a Top Gear producer.

  1. Really sad to see Tim go. But it must be so draining doing the show. Apparently they film 2 shows a day at the antique fair and then it’s 4 teams for the auction. That’s a lot of things to remember.
