TV Tonight understands Offspring is tipped to shoot around April next year.

This would likely put the series somewhere around mid-year 2016 on TEN.

That could pair it with MasterChef and benefit from bumper winter audiences.

Asher Keddie and Kat Stewart are returning to the series along with Lachy Hulme and Richard Davies.

Despite creator Debra Oswald and writer Michael Lucas not returning, other writers are back on board.

TEN Chief Programming Officer, Beverley McGarvey, previously said, “The strength and appeal of Offspring lies in the ability of its producers and writers to marry conventional narrative drama with flashbacks and fantasy sequences. We can’t wait to start production on the sixth season.

“We are very proud of everything that Offspring has achieved and we are very excited about bringing the new season to all Australians.”

Next week TEN confirms its slate for 2016 -it should be great to see the cast back together.
