Report: Deal close on NRL for FOX Sports

Marathon talks between parties could lead to an announcement by FOX Sports soon.

FOX Sports is close to purchasing a Saturday night NRL game from Nine for $35m a year, according to media reports.

News Corp reports marathon talks on Wednesday night would ensure the return of Super Saturday to FOX, with three games to run that day culminating in the Saturday night game.

Parties were reportedly in advanced discussions on a Friday 6pm game to be screened on FOX Sports.

FOX could screen as many as five Live games in a deal currently under negotiation between News Corp, the NRL and Nine with a simulcast of all eight games of the round.
