Four Corners‘ Caro Meldrum-Hanna, Sam Clark and Max Murch were awarded the Gold Walkley Award in Melbourne last night for “Making a Killing,” the story which exposed live baiting in the greyhound racing industry in Australia.

The Walkley judges said: “’Making a Killing’ exposes greyhound racing’s ugly secret. It took bravery, tenacity and months of planning in three states to produce a jaw-dropping report that has shaken not just the greyhound code but the entire racing industry.”

ABC and Seven were the big winners in the TV categories at the event held at the Crown Palladium, with Seven News winning for its coverage of the Lindt Siege cafe.

Nine’s 60 Minutes and SKY News’ own David Speers, who was hosting the event, were also recognised.

  1. Thank you for doing this DK…with your feet up and cold drink in one hand…. 🙂
The only one of these I did not see was the Sky News one…

  2. Nice to see Huw Parkinson get a gong. That David Speers interview with Christopher Pyne was so good that it resulted in two people receiving awards.
