Actor Jason Patric (The Lost Boys, Sleepers) will be starring in the second season of Wayward Pines.

The news comes after FOX initially made the series with Matt Dillon as a stand-alone season.

Patric will play Dr. Theo Yedlin, a “confident, driven surgeon whose leadership skills will prove invaluable to the residents of Wayward Pines.” A press release from FOX says that the series will pick up “after the shocking events of Season 1” with the residents “battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation.”

“Dr. Theo Yedlin — a new resident of Wayward Pines — awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion, as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race.”

“Jason is an incredibly grounded and believable actor,” says executive producer M. Night Shyamalan. “I’m so excited for audiences to see what he brings to the world of Wayward Pines.”

As yet there is no mention if Pam (Melissa Leo) and Kate (Carla Gugino) are also returning.

  1. I liked Wayward Pines but like JJ Abrams ‘Lost’ the twist in the plot became evident fairly quickly. There’s no reason why this show could not have a different character actor for each season but with similar shows still airing like ‘100’ and other ‘Zombie’ genres doing a similar job we’ll have to wait and see if Wayward Pines will get a season 3.

    1. Yeah. Would have preferred that it was only hinted at during S1 and then revealed halfway thru S2. Obviously, as they initially intended to just make one season, that wasn’t an option.
