It’s been quite some time since new Ripper Street episodes have aired on TV but a new season hits airwaves on Saturday night on ONE.
This is Season 3, the first produced for Amazon which originally debuted in November 2014 (and July 2015 on BBC). A fourth season has since premiered via Amazon while a 5th is also due.
Four years have passed since the team from Ripper Street went their separate ways. Reid, Drake and Jackson are now isolated from one another, Rose is a music-hall performer and Susan has a clinic.
A gang led by a man called Davies bribes disillusioned ex-signalman Enright to help them rob a train. This leads to a head-on collision with another train.
Reid and Drake reunite with Jackson to solve the case. But they are unaware that a plot much greater is unfolding.
9:30pm Saturday on ONE.

Period Police procedural – Brilliant show.
Oh I didn’t realsie it was still going, last I read it was axed at season two.
Me neither – I thought S3 was the end of it.
S1 was fun, but a little dumb. S2 was dumb but fun (“which 19th C character or factoid will be shoehorned in next?” was a favourite game here). S3 was just dumb. Honestly hadn’t noticed there was a S4, and don’t know if it’ll be worth getting set again to watch it online…
I quite like this show.
Have yet to catch up on Season 2 – Damien Molony is good in it.
Thought it had been axed.
