It’s all systems go on the 24 reboot, 24: Legacy.

FOX has ordered 12 episodes of the series, which sees Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) as a military hero Eric Carter, who returns to the US. But CTU soon asks for help stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil. Miranda Otto and Jimmy Smits also star.

The new series will retain the real-time storytelling with split screens and represent one hour each episode.

The reboot hails from the original team of exec producers, Howard Gordon, Manny Coto, Evan Katz and Brian Grazer, with Stephen Hopkins as director and exec producer.

Kiefer Sutherland will also serve as an executive producer but there are no plans for him to reprise his role as Jack Bauer at this time.

  1. Won’t be watching it. What’s the point of 24 without Jack? I would have liked to seen a spin off with Tony Almedia escaping prison. Now that I would have loved to see.

  2. Hmm. The first season was a fresh idea and the story was decent enough. I really only kept watching to see if Bauer was going to take a toilet break. I’d had enough of Elisha Cuthbert’s over-acting by the second (and I found her character to be annoying). The bits I saw of the third season were just stupid.

Still… Miranda Otto and Jimmy Smits. Might give this a look.

  3. Great, I’m looking forward to it.

Are we ever going to get the special that aired in the US where the last series left off? It was a mini series or movie. I read about it on one of the forums.
