Logies all-Aussie music assault (at least so far) continues with the announcement that Jimmy Barnes will perform.
He joins previously announced Delta Goodrem and Conrad Sewell.
“I’m very happy to be playing at the Logies – the biggest night on the Australian television calendar,” he said. “I’ll be playing a song recorded in Nashville for my new album. It’s going to be a great night.”
TV Week editor, Emma Nolan added, “Jimmy is Australian music royalty.
“We’re unbelievably excited to have Jimmy take to the TV Week Logies stage this year. There’s no doubt it will be an unforgettable performance.”
The Logies will screen Live on Nine on may 8th.
Amended: Samantha Jade performed at nominations event.

I might watch the Logies now. Now if they could only do it all from Dubbo.
While it’s good that they have an Aussie line-up, what is the relevance of Barnsey at the Logies?
What is the relevance of pretty much any musical act they’ve ever had at the logies? It’s just musical performances to break up the night and the monotony of awards being handed out.
i love Jimmy, I’ve seen him plenty of times, this is fantastic news. I wonder who will be the international musical guest
Wonder if Barnes will freestyle the lyrics and put in a “Now you’re trying to use my face to sell TV Week,” nah of course not, he’s mellowed with age (read as he realises he needs them now).
I had to look that up. Seems in 1981 Cold Chisel was unhappy with Countdown requiring them to mime at the TV Week-sponsored Countdown Awards. They sang “My Turn to Cry” and altered a lyric, a “Now you’re trying to use my face to sell TV Week.” Good recall thanks!
I was too young to know about that incident when it happened, but I remember it being shown in Molly, the mini series.
