7mate will screen New Zealand series Bogans, described as a celebration of “Boganism.”
According to the NZ Herald, based mostly in Hamilton, it follows self-confessed bogans doing bogan-themed activities, such as car rallies, burnout sessions, tattoo conventions, medieval re-enactments and oddly themed beauty pageants.
Part reality show, part documentary, Bogans tries to show that its participants are “normal people like everyone else”.
9:30pm Monday 23 May on 7mate.

What about gym training?
You’re getting confused between the ‘bogan nouveau’ (Ed Hardy shirts, Pandora jewelery, vacuous if belligerent conversation, etc) and the ‘classic bogan’ (flanellette shirt, Winnie Blue’s tucked in the arm, and with whom you can have an insightful if slightly repetitive conversation about Acca Dacca or The Oils).
NZ bogans are more the latter type…
(Dont feel bad about confusing the two – the “Things Bogans Like” website made the same mistake.)
Someone just came out of the closet…
Mate, I’m from Qld. Doomed from birth, I accepted my fate long ago ?
