Renewed: The Americans
Final two seasons confirmed for acclaimed Cold War drama, set to wrap in 2018.

US Cold War drama The Americans has been renewed for its final two seasons.
The series, featuring Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys, will have 13 episodes in 2017 and a final 10 eps in 2018.
The series has always been critically acclaimed but has drawn modest ratings throughout its US run.
Creators Joe Weisberg and Joel Fields will remain as showrunners despite a deal with FX Productions to develop their next series.
Weisberg previously told the Hollywood Reporter, “I would say we got it down to about four different endings. So we’re pretty well honed in on a zone we’re going to go to, but we haven’t decided for sure. And the way that we work, it could also all change. As it gets closer, we could come up with something totally different that would surprise me.”
“Through its first four seasons, critics have lauded The Americans as one of the best shows on television and, remarkably, a series that keeps getting better every year,” said Eric Schrier, FX Networks and Productions co-president of original programming. “We have no doubt that this two-season order will allow Joe and Joel to tell this story to its perfect conclusion. On behalf of our producing partners at Fox 21 Television Studios and Amblin TV, we look forward to a brilliant final act of the Jennings family saga.”
It airs in Australia on SoHo and ONE.

Currently watching the latest season on foxtel…it just gets better and better , one of my favourite shows.
Yeah agree with you there Beckala – we are following it on DVD as well – pretty well impossible to follow it around the Ten/Eleven/One “schedule”
Season 4 is the best so far.
Since a few people seem to be watching season 3 on ONE, I won’t give up what’s currently happening on season 4… But let’s just say that I think the writers have gone in exactly the right direction. Let’s just say that the character who is focused on in season 4 must win an Emmy for the person playing the role.
The best thing about this show is that nothing seems rushed, yet it’s far from slow-moving. Plot points are brilliantly progressed without making everything so obvious.
Great news I love The Americans, I’ve been enjoying season 3 on ONE. Curious how they’ll end it. Wonder if they’ll have the end of the Cold War. Hope Stan finds out about them, can’t wait to see his reaction.

Fantastic, I binge watch it.
This is one of the best shows on tv at the moment, in my opinion. I’ve actually ordered the dvds in from America, as only Season 1 was available here, and by the time I “found” it, it was too late to catch up on One…
