SKY News coverage of Budget 2016 begins at 6:00pm with Budget 2016: Setting The Scene anchored by Laura Jayes and Carson Scott looking at what to expect from this year’s budget.

Coverage will feature across SKY News, SKY News Business and SKY News Election Channel.

At 7:30pm Budget 2016: The Treasurer will bring you Scott Morrison, Live and uninterrupted, as he delivers the Turnbull Government’s much-anticipated pre-election budget direct from Parliament House in Canberra.

From 8:00pm, Budget 2016: The Verdict will offer Live and instant analysis with SKY News Political Editor David Speers in Canberra as he interviews Treasurer Morrison and Shadow Treasurer Chris Bowen, as well as the Greens leader Richard Di Natale.

David will look at the political and economic implications of a budget that will set the scene for the election with political and economic experts. Also on the panel SKY News commentators Peter van Onselen and Patricia Karvelas as well as Jennifer Westacott from the BCA and Ged Kearney from the ACTU.

At 10:00pm on SKY News Live, Budget 2016: Paul Murray Live will take a look into what the budget will mean to you, with Paul Murray to be joined by Chris Kenny, Ed Husic, Miranda Devine, Kristina Keneally, Janine Perrett, Ross Cameron, Adam Creighton and Nick Cater as they examine any budget savings or cost increases. Paul will also speak Livewith Finance Minister Mathias Cormann.

  1. If Sky is any indication of what the media will provide us this election will be dead and buried for most people before election day, I wonder if Foxtel or Sky can explain why it was necessary to have two channels showing exactly the same coverage by removing A-PAC as a dedicated channel.
