This premise sounds a little bit familiar.

Next month SBS 2 premieres French-UK crime drama Spotless, which centres around a man who runs  a crime scene cleaning business. But when his brother arrives they end up involved in organised crime.

The cast includes Marc-André Grondin, Denis Ménochet, Miranda Raison and Brendan Coyle. The show is co-created and written by BAFTA Award-winner Ed McCardie.

There were 10 episodes in all, produced in 2015, which will air in double episodes from July.

Spotless tells the story of a troubled man, Jean Bastiere (Marc-André Grondin), whose tidy life is turned upside down when his outlaw brother, Martin (Denis Ménochet) crash lands into his world, forcing dark secrets of the past into the light, and getting both of them fatally involved in organised crime.

The brothers are very different – Jean is a conservative and successful French immigrant to London; Martin is a visceral and libidinous wanderer. In truth, they are two sides of the same coin, their lives marked forever by a violent killing in La Vendée 25 years ago.

Played out against a backdrop of Jean’s niche Crime Scene Cleaning business, with gangsters, corruption, drugs and death a constant hazard, Jean, Martin and their dysfunctional family struggle to gain control over life, business and their shared destiny.

Saturday, 9 July at 9.30pm and 10.30pm on SBS 2.
