Buff TV host and model Jason Dundas has been confirmed as the new host of The X Factor.
He replaces Luke Jacobz who hosted for 6 seasons on Seven.
Dundas has been based in the US recently hosting America’s Best Dance Crew on MTV, Big Morning Buzz Live for VH1 and as a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight. In 2014 he hosted Seven’s failed reality series The Big Adventure.
“I’m so incredibly humbled and excited to be apart of a show that provides Australians with a platform to live out their dreams as a singer,” Dundas said.
“My career as a television host all started from winning a contest so I know how life-changing a show like this can be.
“It’s also great that I will be home for a bit after a few years of being based in the US.”
In November Luke Jacobz tweeted he was hosting his final season for Seven. He stepped into the hosting role at the eleventh hour after Matthew Newton was dismissed from the show, shortly before its 2010 launch.
Judging for Seven this year are Iggy Azalea, Guy Sebastian and Adam Lambert.

Just checked out his socials – he loves himself more than Kanye West. RIP X-Factor
I thought they would of went with a female host for a change. Might give it a miss.
RIP X Factor
Good luck Jason great show should be great this year
Clearly there is no talent in Australia. I know he and Iggy are from here but please
The Cultural Cringe is still alive & well.
There is plenty of good talent in Australia
im not sure about xfactor this year.
I’m not sure as well. With Olympics and Paralympics coming, my thoughts are that TXF would clash with DWTS. Hence, this would be a huge overkill for these 2 reality shows.
im not sure XFactorAUS this year will get and sustain the ratings in previous seasons.
Shoudy Chen- if this show doesn’t over 1million viewers for every show, it’ll be in trouble in getting renewed for 2017.
I agree. DWTS has struggled during last year where it didn’t hit at least 900k viewers. Season 16 would be kind of a dog’s breakfast. Ratings might fall to new lows.
exactly.
It is entirely possible that DWTS is selved (they always say “if we can’t get a good cast, we don’t do a seaso” and that may be entirely possible.
I thought Luke did a fantastic job hosting, but Jason is a good replacement.
The Big Adventure coulda been fantastic but they over cooked it.
In my opinion, there was no saving that mess of a show. Especially when a certain island centered reality show (which may or may not be returning to our screens on 10) exists
