The WIN Network has confirmed its Federal Election coverage into 16 local markets on Monday July 4th.

WIN News will use its extensive network of local regional reporters to get to the heart of what the election results in each electorate will mean for viewers on the issues that matter.

The detailed rundown of how electorates voted will be broadcast in the nightly news bulletins on Monday, July 4. This will cap-off the election lead-in coverage of what the parties are pledging for regional areas.

WIN Network CEO Andrew Lancaster said its half-hour regional local bulletins allowed the network to keep viewers well informed on what was happening in their backyards.

“We’ve always remained committed to our local news services and on election day we will have reporters in the field in each of our markets in order to deliver the best coverage possible,” he said.

“With our new program supply agreement in place with Network Ten, our local news bulletins will be part of a strong, overarching national review of the Federal Election.

“Regional viewers will get the rundown on their regional results through the WIN News broadcast they know and respect at 6pm, immediately after the national situation is covered by TEN Eyewitness News First At Five.”

To round out Monday night’s election coverage, WIN News will be followed by the Logie Award-winning news and current affairs panel show, The Project at 6.30pm.

The WIN Network’s new program supply from Network TEN commences on July 1, 2016. Viewers will not need to rescan their television to access the new programming on WIN.

WIN’s regional local news bulletins, WIN News, will air each weeknight in the primetime 6pm timeslot from Friday July 1 on its regional networks in Queensland, southern NSW, Victoria and the nation’s capital in the ACT.

  1. Anyone wanting to follow the election results will watch Antony Green and ABC24. WIN will provide extensive coverage of local electorates on Monday. Meanwhile, SCA will report on?

  2. At least they could do combined Qld, southern NSW, Vic news and Canberra news on the Sunday night. Two days later, is yeah, too late.

  3. From 1st July I am guessing Family Fued will air at 6pm in Mackay on WIN (8) as we don’t have WIN news. With the nineon5 ad it says we are welcoming home ACA and Tracey but she didn’t go anywhere in Mackay cause ACA continued to air at 7pm on WIN. And I do realise it’s just a generic Southern Cross/Nine ad.

  4. The problem WIN has and it is their undoing is that they pulled out most of the links required to do live 2 way interviews and feed content into their newsrooms from the field many years ago as a cost cutting measure. So not surprised at all they are doing delayed news coverage. The usual on-the-cheap tokenism from WIN, nothing new there.

    1. At least WIN television do provide a half hour local news services for its regional viewers .give em credit for that bcause prime television and southern cross do not provide any local half hour news service for its viewers

  5. So basically their normal news coverage two days after the event. A missed opportunity really to push the WIN News brand further over that first weekend affiliated with Ten.
