Nine has appointed former FOX Sports producer Keeley Devery as Head of Netball for Wide World of Sports.

She will be responsible for the Nine’s netball slate, including the newly structured Quad Series, the Constellation Cup and the supercharged Fast5 series.

Devery had 20 years at FOX Sports, including the past five years overseeing production of the ANZ Netball Championship. She has also been the senior producer for rugby, producing Super Rugby, Test matches and the last World Cup broadcasts.

She also played international netball for 10 years, including 69 Test appearances for Australia, recognised with membership of the NSW Hall of Champions and the Netball Australia Hall of Fame, and a Medal of the Order of Australia.

Tom Malone, Nine’s Director of Sport, said: “Keeley’s love of netball and passion for sports broadcasting makes her the perfect choice for this role. She’ll bring great knowledge of the game and expertise in production to Wide World of Sports.”

Keeley Devery said: “I am extremely excited about joining Wide World of Sports and being involved in netball’s new era. Netball is a sport I am very passionate about and I know the Nine Network is passionate about sport too.”

Kate Palmer, Chief Executive of Netball Australia, said: “Congratulations to Nine on an outstanding appointment. Keeley will deliver the wow factor to our new national league. Her knowledge and passion for the game and strong broadcast experience position her perfectly to launch netball into a new era for women’s sport. We can’t wait to get started.”

Devery will begin in her new role in late August.

  1. Really looking forward to seeing what Nine can do with this.

Channel 10 earn the Wooden Spoon this year, for showing only one game each round, and then showing none of the finals live – shame.
