Chris Evans will not be replaced on Top Gear according to the BBC.
Evans quit the show earlier this week following a barrage of criticism and disappointing ratings.
“We have no immediate plans to replace Chris Evans and do not expect to do so going forward,” a BBC spokesperson explained. “Series 24 starts filming in September.”
But it is also yet to confirm just who is returning, with Matt Le Blanc said to be in negotiations.
Meanwhile, on his Radio 2 show this week, Evans said, “Today’s show is dedicated to all the Top Gear gang.
“And today’s show is entitled ‘Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On’.”

Despite his personal ego, at least Chris Evans soon realised that he was not good for TG. Meanwhile in Vincenza, Italy on July 7th Clarkson, Hammond & May all rocked up in flash cars and were mobbed by a fairly huge crowd as a result of JC tweeting in advance of their arrival. In hindsight, the BBC should have suspended JC for a couple of episodes, a sincere public apology to Oisin Tymon and a considerable payout to him as well
Someone need to make a ‘What went wrong’ chronically the events that lead to Top Gear being in such a mess… can’t wait for the movie!
