It's only taken seven years, but finally Millionaire Hot Seat will have the chance to live up to its title.

Hot Seat is heating up the game show battle for the next two weeks with more money than at other time in its seven-year history.
It will also include a Million dollar question -although no indication as yet when that will feature (I would tip next Monday).
Night after night, we will see a life-changing sum of money won by ordinary Australians.
And viewers will be treated to an historic event that will go down in Hot Seat history when we see one everyday Aussie play for the top prize of one million dollars.
After seven years, it’s the moment the country has been waiting for. In an instant, everything could change for one lucky contestant in the Hot Seat.
Don’t miss the incredible Millionaire Hot Seat event that will captivate the nation and show that dreams really can come true.
Since it debuted in April 2009, Millionaire Hot Seat has given away more than $36 million.
5:30pm* weekdays on Nine.
* it’s never 5:30!

Saw an ad this evening with Ed saying to an older bloke, congratulations you’ve just won $1 million. Said Monday 5.30pm (but we all know they mean 5.15)
It’s 5 o’clock on the Gold Coast but it always starts earlier, it seems to be getting earlier every day. Yesterday I turned it on & they were already on the $500 question & it wasn’t even 5 to yet.
Ed was pumping it up last week on his breakfast show. Hasn’t the hot seat been beaten by the Chaser? He even mentioned it again this morning.
Looks like it is tonight!!!
Spoiler (don’t scroll below if you don’t want to know)
Hang on David, you lied. You were probably told to do that by Nine.
Hopefully there really is a $1,000,000 question asked (and maybe won) this week or next Monday like you originally tipped.
Have you been looking at the wrong episode
There was no lie. It did look like it was tonight. Your second point is offensive.
I am sorry David.
A thought I had was because you have this well known website (that even television networks know about) you might have access to advanced episodes of some TV shows.
I am guessing now that you don’t get advanced episodes for any TV show.
Obviously not every show. Moving on.
“…it’s the moment the country has been waiting for.”
If by “country” you mean less than 3% of the population.
Good to see a contestant sit there and answer every question rather than strategically passing to hope to be in at the end…
I feel it won’t be a full 15 question effort from this upcoming contestant.
It will most likely feature passing from other players.
I hope the episode that features the $1,000,000 question asked is in the current set and not the set that Hot Seat started with.
Apparently dark blue is the colour the set will be according to the money tree.
Why are Nine repeating an episode of Hot Seat that is seven years old? (the one with the first million dollar question)? http://tvtonight.com.au/2009/09/million-dollar-movie-question.html
Good point. The release didn’t actually say first ever $M question but it did say historic moment, which I took to mean first-ever question given they don’t reveal the outcome. But as a $M question is not a historic moment as you point out I guess they are conceding the cash goes off. I have amended accordingly and will ask.
