Weddings were all the rage last night on Nine, but it was a case of for better or for worse.
The double-episode finale of Love Child helped Nine to win the primary channels, but it wasn’t after a bit of a roller-coaster night due to a clip show.
Winning their timeslots were Seven News, A Current Affair and Highway Patrol.
But after leading with ACA, Nine’s Australia’s Most Outrageous Weddings landed in fourth place, leaving Love Child to do all the heavy lifting. The drama managed to steam back to second place at 8:30pm, in a slot won by Have You Been Paying Attention? TEN’s panel show also topped all three demos.
Australian Story was strong for ABC.

Even after 8 seasons, Highway Patrol is still the quiet achiever for Seven. Still pulls solid numbers in reruns on 7Two, 7mate and Fox8.
Wonder if there will be another series of Love Child?
All the loose ends appeared to be conveniently tied up and most of the characters appear to have resolved their differences and look set to “live happily ever after.”
Only a question mark hanging over Joan and Jim’s relationship but it appears she’s at peace with letting him go.
Still good numbers for HYBPA even with no Masterchef lead in….
