This Saturday on SBS 2, from the producers of Suicide Squad, American Hustle and Man of Steel comes the second season of 12 Monkeys.

The 13 part series begins with a double episode. This premiered in the US in April, with the series already renewed for a third.

It follows the journey of James Cole (Aaron Stanford), a man from 2043 sent back in time to stop a malevolent organisation known as the Army of the 12 Monkeys from destroying the world. Joining forces with Dr Cassandra Railly (Amanda Schull) in the present day, Cole must untangle an insidious conspiracy that’s been spun throughout centuries.

As Cole, Dr Railly and their unlikely allies get closer to discovering the truth, they’ll learn that there are not only deadly consequences for mankind, but time itself.

Episode One: Year of the Monkey (9.30pm)
While on the run from the Army of the 12 Monkeys, Cole and Ramse repair their broken friendship. Meanwhile in 2043, Railly and Jones navigate an uncertain future as Deacon and the Twelve control the Temporal Facility.

Episode Two: Primary (10.20pm)
When an attempt to destroy the virus changes the future, Cole finds himself stranded in 2016 with an unstable Jennifer Goines, who may or may not be his key to getting home. Meanwhile, Jones and Railly must deal with both the consequences of the changed timeline and the temporal facility’s newest prisoner – Ramse.
