  1. Zumbo looks likely to have a decent drop in numbers tonight. We’ve not seen so many negative social media comments on a show for a very long time.

  2. Hey if constant promos was an Olympic event, Zumbo would have won all three medals. I think 7 will be worried about those numbers and going by the comments it is only going to get worse…

  3. I did not watch any reality last night and have no plans to. Last night I caught up on multiple step dave eps that aired over the weekend. Good show and sad its only lasted 2 seasons but atleast it didn’t have a cliffhanger ending so that’s something. Not much drama of interest available this week on free to air with plans only to watch winners & losers, Chicago fire, offspring, being mary jane but hey if you want hours and hours of the same old reality free to air is good for that.

  4. We have never watched a single minute of The Block series until the other night, the constant blatant referring to suppliers; products, shows to us its all setup to get contestants cheap products and favors for the exposure they get, The voice over guy is irritating, and when one of the contestants had to write something a hundred times for mucking up,flicked off,are you kidding? ?,never again

    1. I used to watch every episode of The Block, up until a few years ago when there was nearly a whole episode dedicated to one of the contestants and their phobia to a fruit or vegetable and they had Scott Cam pretending to be a therapist with said contestant lying on a couch for ‘therapy’. Turned it off in disgust, what on earth does that have to do with renovation? Looks like they’re back to their old tricks again. Now I record the reveal episodes only, fast forward through majority of it, have it watched in under 30 minutes.

  5. Not a big drop for Survivor. It’s good at retaining the audience and judging from twitter it is engaging audiences, but I am hoping and I am sure ten are hoping that the numbers rise. Hopefully, the other shows drop in viewers because I really want Aus Survivor gets renewed (and while it’s at it, it hopefully cancels the other shows, which I believe is of lesser quality)

  6. Great numbers for Australian Story considering what it was up against. Thanks ABC for providing an engaging alternative to competition reality shows.

  7. I watched Zumbo out of curiosity and because I enjoyed the Great Australian Bake Off. Sorry, but I gave up after about half an hour. This show is a shocker. Just terrible. Turned over to The Block which is a program I usually avoid, but found it not bad at all, almost enjoyable, good casting this time. I think Survivor will not attract a big audience because it is nothing new, just a rehash of a program that has been around for years on Channel Nine.

    1. Agreed. I was really looking forward to it since I love Zumbo and his brand but this show is a fizzer for me. Identical format to Masterchef but far less exciting. What’s with Rachel Khoo and Gigi doing all the hosting duties? I kept expecting Matt, George and Gary to appear. Really pedestrian TV. I was hoping for some Willy Wonka magic but there was none. Ended up watching The Block which was at least entertaining. Expect first ep. ratings to slide.

      1. It’s obvious that Zumbo is bad talent so they’re shielding him from looking like a fool. He’s more of a valuable brand than valuable talent.

        1. At Least Zumbo, the observational doco on SBS in 2012, helped us get to know Adriano and see him at work with his staff. Showed his genuine caring nature and thoughtfulness.

Not sure if Just Desserts is his kind of vehicle.

  8. I still think Survivor will be the tortoise to the Zumblock hare…It takes a while for the audience to bond with the contestants and over time word of mouth may help boost numbers.
At least that’s what I hope!

  9. It will probably be the last time zumbo beats the block. I’m surprised it did. I wanted to watch but when your up against the block and survivor I can’t.

  10. I agree that the first 30 minutes of Survivor last night was boring. All that really happened was one girl breaking down and crying because she thought someone stole her bag and shirt. It’s not a bad show but editing should be tighter

  11. I’m surprised at the drop with Survivor. I think our version is finding its place pretty quickly and confidently. This household has zero interest in the Zumblock alternatives.

  12. Ten need to get survivor out of its 7.30 Sunday slot. Either pull it forward to 7pm or have it on Monday /Tuesday. I’m loving it and really hope it’s finds an audience

  13. I’m still enjoying Survivor, however they really could tighten up the editing. Barely anything happened in the first 30 mins of last night’s episode. They could have easily cut 15 mins of the fluff last night and had a tight, exciting 60 minute episode.

    1. I am stumped as to why it isn’t doing better , I too think it’s great. I fell asleep after the first 10 minutes of Zumbo which I had recorded….think that might be it for me where it is concerned.

  14. Wow, that never thought Zumbo would beat The Block. I guess underestimated the pester power of those promos. I still think The Block will win this reality war. The real test will be after Wednesdays ratings however. And as I said yesterday, no real competition from TEN tonight.

  15. Ok, so I was really looking forward to Zumbo….but OMG it was sooooo boring!!!
The contestants looked like they were as bored as everyone in my house! It was like watching a car crash in slow motion!
The only thing to come out of last night was it was the 1st time I agreed with my mother in law…we both said it was ‘sad and painful tv’ Also annoyed I missed Survivor because of it. Lesson learned. Not wasting time on it again

  16. Figures for Khoo’s just desserts I mean Zumbo’s* ? are abit meh, thought it would’ve done a little better as the ads were flogged throughout the Olympics and it was really hyped up… Watched and I thought it was disappointing, very dull honestly I was so bored! ? Everything was over the top from the music to the stupid clock sound effect. Judges were stiff too much fake smiles ? No comment on Gigi ??.. Overall it felt cheap and lacked sophistication. Yes some desserts looked yum but that’s about it doubt I’ll be back. Can see the ratings dropping from here.

  17. Couldn’t watch Zumbo, but actually found myself watching the Block because for a change I like the people. They have done a good job with the casting this year.
