Next week Seven premieres new factual series Martin Clunes: Islands of Australia featuring the Doc Martin star.
“This is my voyage around the adventure playgrounds, the best-kept secrets and the astonishing surprises of the Islands of Australia,” says Martin Clunes.
Martin’s journey sees him shake his hips with the hula girls of Norfolk Island; shinny up Queen Victoria’s favourite tree on Lord Howe Island; and get friendly with a castaway dingo on remote Restoration Island off Australia’s north-eastern coast.
He then travels to the northern and western fringes of Australia where he discovers colourful creatures off Ningaloo Reef and the magical Muirons; delicacies and football in Tiwi; visits the scene of one of the grisliest tales in Australian history in the Abrolhos; and takes a selfie with the quokkas on Rottnest.
On the last leg of his voyage, Martin visits the islands along the southern coast playing cowboys on the range in Mundoo; picking up a penguin on Phillip Island; and finding sympathy with a devil on Tasmania’s Maria Island.
Friday, October 7 at 8.30pm on Seven.
