Channel [V] HITS is launching the Shazam Chart Show playing down the highest trending “Shazamed” tracks in Australia according to the music app.

In what sounds like branded content, each Sunday it will feature the most “Shazamed” songs of the week (which presumably could include retro, album tracks or emerging artists) while a weekday edition will play the Top Ten “Shazamed” songs of the day.

Fraser Stark, Group Channel Manager, Foxtel Arts & Music Channels said, “[V] HITS has it covered for the latest in charts and music videos. Following the success of Tweet the Beat on [V] HITS, the channel is extending its partnerships with popular digital platforms that have an ear for music.

“By teaming up with Shazam, [V] HITS viewers can see more of the most popular songs from home and around the world, some of the greatest hits from past years, as well as discover new artists and fresh tracks to fall in love with. It’s great that we can now bring the fun and immediacy of Shazam trends to [V] HITS.”

The [V] HITS Shazam Chart Show will be a mix of popular tracks, much-loved favourites, and future trending hits from Australian and international artists. In 2015 the most Shazamed track in Australia was ‘Do You Remember’ from Aussie singer-songwriter Jarryd James – tune in to see what artists are vying for the top spot in 2016!

With 20 million Shazam’s every day across the globe, the Shazam chart can be an early predictor for up and coming artists with new songs often peaking on Shazam before they hit the mainstream. The Shazam Chart Show on [V] HITS can help you find the latest tracks you’ll love ahead of your mates.

Sundays from October 23 at 12pm and weekdays from October 24 at 5pm on [V] HITS.
