Survivor has a new timeslot of 10pm Thursdays (Syd / Bris) following The Footy Show from September 29 (10:30pm Melb / Ade / Per). It will launch a week after its US screening -but if there are any US pre-emptions we could well catch up for the finale (unclear).

  1. Thanks for all the info, David.

Having all three of ‘Macgyver’, ‘Scorpion’, and ‘Hawaii Five-0’ all on Sat Oct 8 on TEN kind of suggests the network may be lining up a ‘Super Saturday’ type of promo branding for this night from October, perhaps along the lines of the ‘Super Sunday’ that TEN used with varying success for a while a year or two back.

    Saturday October 8 on TEN

  2. What the hell channel 9!? Putting Survivor on at 10pm on Thursdays… and only in Sydney & Brisbane?? Makes no sense whatsoever! I know that channel 10 is running its own Australian Version at the moment, but the American version has loyal fans that will still watch it because it’s the original and best version, and to now after the last few years of fast tracking it on Go! to have it shoved it to 9 late at night and in only two cities is ridiculous. ??

    1. 10.30pm in the other states. I don’t care about the timeslot so much, but being a week behind is a huge issue – impossible to avoid any spoilers on FB etc. The footy season (and The Footy Show) is almost over, so hopefully we will get a double episode to catch up and an earlier timeslot. I’m just happy we’re not going back to the dim dark ages of missing out completely. I am loving the Australian series but don’t want to miss the U.S. version.

  3. So 9’s airing Survivor now but not on the same night as the US. Why would they go backwards on this? So annoying.
Blindspot has already started in the US so we are already behind on that.
I’ve noticed ch 11 showing promos for upcoming shows but no mention of Empire. I hope they will still fast track it.
Any word on when 9 will finally air the final season of Person of Interest? They keep showing repeats. Wish they’d just air it already. Along with the final season of The Following.

    1. Have to agree about POI. Final season has already aired in the US, and no word from 9 about showing it here. Not as if 9 is swamped with so many top rating shows it can’t squeeze POI in.

  4. I can’t recall Survivor being pre-empted in its entire history. David, I think you’re thinking of the old recap episode that they used to air the week of Thanksgiving with bits of un-aired footage thrown in, but the last time they aired one was in 2011, so I wouldn’t hold out much hope for that assisting Australian fans.

      1. I was hoping it would be screened next week, I did have a look at sbs’s upcoming schedule as I thought it may screen the Thursday 29th at 9.30pm as Verasailles finishes this week, but alas a repeat of some other drivel is on. I do remember the previous seasons have been on sbs within the week of the USA premiere. I am also hoping the new season of Vikings will be fastracked as that debuts in November in the USA

    1. My guess is eventually yes. There has been some chatter that Amazon Prime may launch so maybe it has been held back for that. Having seen an episode whilst overseas it was very good. Now that there is a date for The Grand Tour perhaps we will see if rumours prove true.

      1. Yes, Man In The High Castle is excellent. A “what could have been” premise with Japan owning western USA and Nazi Germany the eastern half, with some “neutral” states between. This is the show you will binge on once you see ep.1

  5. Will give This Is Us a go when it airs. Of the others only watch greys and NCIS. So not much on the horizon and my pvr will continue to remain pretty quiet.

I’m currently watching the first season of DC legends of tommorrow from the library. Its not bad but not as good as supergirl.

BBC First is also available on the fetch box for those who subscribe. Its unlikely I will have the fetch box much longer cause our greedy isp wants to charge an extra $50 per months to keep it. No big loss as The Fall will likely end up on netflix at some point and will be able to watch the final season there.

      1. The whole first season of The Catch has already aired in the US and been renewed. So it can’t be fasttracked! Might find a place when Durrells/800 Words end and timeslots become available

        1. Didn’t know that. Just checked and it aired april, may in the US. Surprised 7 didn’t air it earlier when the winter months have been dead in terms of US programming. Whilst the promo caught my attention wasn’t planning to watch cause didn’t want to chase it round the schedule and shonda shows don’t rate well here but now it hasn’t been fast tracked will definately give it a miss. Maybe netflix will get the worldwide rights to it like they did for htgawm also made by shonda which I don’t watch. If they did may check it out there.

      1. Yeah, many thanks to Ch7 for showing most of their offerings on a channel we don’t receive. Thanks for that!
I guess Shield and Quantico now join OUAT on the ‘like to watch but too hard basket’.

  6. Saw a promo last week that How to Get Away with Murder, Quantico and Grey’s Anatomy would all be fasttracked to 7Flix (not 7TWO) on Mondays from September 26. We can assume that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will also be shown on 7Flix.

    1. I agree, ‘The Strain’ is already screening so it will be 5 episodes in advance before Australia gets to see it. My suspicion is that episode availability is decided on commercial grounds so that time changes for fluctuating ratings can be made, this means that fans will need to keep on their toes tracking their favorite shows.
