ABC has picked up two ITV dramas, The Level, featuring Philip Glenister and Victoria, starring Jenna Coleman.

The Level depicts the life of Detective Sergeant Nancy Devlin (Karla Crome) who is living a secret double life. In addition to Philip Glenister it also features Laura Haddock, Noel Clarke, Robert James-Collier and Amanda Burton.

Nancy’s exemplary police career masks a covert attachment to shady businessman and drugs trafficker, Frank Le Saux. Inextricably linked to Frank from childhood as the father of her best friend, Hayley and the father figure she herself craved, Nancy has been playing a dangerous game – ensuring that Frank always remains off the police radar. When Frank is murdered Nancy finds herself at the centre of an investigation which will put her at risk of exposure and see her stalked by a killer intent on destroying her.

ABC will also have free to air rights to Victoria, starring Jenna Coleman and Rufus Sewell. As this has just commenced on BBC First it shouldn’t be expected on ABC for another 12 months.

  1. If Vistoria is presented in the same vein as the letters she wrote her kids (snarky, obsessive, degrading) I would totally watch that. That Victoria was fascinating.
