SBS viewers are in for an absolute treat with Outlander set to screen later this month.

There are 16 episodes in Season 1.

Highly recommended ….and hold on for that finale.

Based on the novels by Diana Gabaldon, this British-American drama series sees Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945, who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743 Scotland. Immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened, she ignites a passionate relationship that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

Episode One:
While on her second honeymoon, World War II combat nurse Claire Randall is mysteriously transported back in time to 1743 Scotland. After an encounter with a British soldier, she’s kidnapped by a group of Scottish Highlanders whose ranks include an injured young man named Jamie.

Thursday, 20 October at 9.30pm on SBS.

  2. Lovely pic…looks like a Friesian horse….love them….
    The actor who plays Jamie has indicated that he is committed to the series for however long it runs…which is good…..
    And yes…my bestie has the DVDs and also said it took a bit to get into..but she now watches them over and over.

  3. For those planning to watch, who haven’t seen anything before, some people have mentioned that the first episode starts quite sedately. Plan to watch two episodes before deciding if you like it.

    2. So true. My partner starting watching this show before me and I thought it was s bit blah..then about episode 3 when the focus was more on the Higlanders I was entranced and really loved it.Of courses the Jamie character is played superbly but the casting overall was brilliant. I understand Series 2 was not so well received but I have great hopes for Series 3. Will certainly watch again.
