Discovery Science will again roll out its Space Month with themed content in November.

Amongst the documentaries featuring are Space’s Deepest Secrets, Death on a Comet: The Rosetta Mission, The Man Who Tweeted Earth and Hubble’s Enduring Legacy.

Hubble’s Enduring Legacy
Sunday 6 November at 8:30pm (AEDT) – Australian TV Premiere
Not since Galileo invented the telescope over 400 years ago has our view of the universe been so transformed. Since its launch in April 1990, The Hubble Space Telescope has become one of the most revolutionary scientific instruments ever built. In this look back at Hubble’s major accomplishments, we explore the life cycle of stars, from their birth in nurseries of dust-laden clouds of gas all the way to their final farewell as titanic supernova explosions. Peer into the breeding grounds of new solar systems, then fly out into the billions upon billions of galaxies Hubble has mapped across the depths of time and space. Hubble has led a broad effort to track the evolution of the universe on time scales ranging from the very short to the unimaginably long. In its brief time in space, Hubble has revolutionised the science of astronomy while inspiring untold legions of stargazers

Death On A Comet: The Rosetta Mission
Friday 11 November at 8:30pm (AEDT) – Australian TV Premiere
Farewell, spacecraft. Your mission will self-destruct in five, four, three, two, one. On 30September 2016, the European Space Agency sent the Rosetta spacecraft crashing into Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Having moved further away from the sun, towards the orbit of Jupiter, the Rosetta was slowly running out of solar power and necessary bandwidth to download the data it has acquired during its time tracking the comet. Tune in to experience this milestone event with never before seen footage as the spacecraft’s mission comes to a terminal end.

The Man Who Tweeted Earth

Sunday 13 November at 8:30pm (AEDT) – Australian TV Premiere
Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield has been called “the internet’s favourite astronaut”. He tweets, snaps stunning photos and regularly connects with folks back home as he hurtles around the earth at 28,000 km an hour aboard the International Space Station. Hadfield’s mission has rekindled our love for space with the first ever documentary produced while its star subject is in orbit, featuring astronauts past, present and future, and expert scientific collaborators.

Space’s Deepest Secrets
Friday 18 November at 8:30pm (AEDT) – Australian TV Premiere
Uncover some of the most groundbreaking discoveries in the history of space exploration in Space’s Deepest Secrets. Pushing the boundaries of space exploration, watch as a new breed of explorers risk not only their careers but their lives as they lead humanity to worlds we are yet to discover and unlock intriguing mysteries of outer space. The series focuses on the work of scientists as they dissect some of the major questions in the universe, question the laws of physics and gravity and unravel the mystery of dark energy.

Survival In The Skies
Monday 21 November at 8.30pm (AEDT) – Australian TV Premiere
Space is the most extreme environment humans have ever explored; there’s only a few thin layers of fabric to keep you alive, in an environment where there’s no air, high doses of radiation and severe swings of temperature. To explore this frontier we’ve engineered the ultimate survival suit, and for those lucky enough to walk in space today, it’s an unforgettable experience. Survival in the Skies explores the story of the space suit, told by the designers, the engineers, and those who wear them in the highest frontier of exploration, 400 kilometres above the Earth.
