The Simpsons turns to VR for 600th episode

The Simpsons couch gag is turning to Virtual Reality for its upcoming 600th episode.

Titled “Planet of the Couches,” the gag will open the “Treehouse of Horror XXVII” later this month.

“Planet of the Couches” takes viewers on a completely immersive VR experience with the audience able to enter and explore the universe of the long-running animated series, with multiple viewings yielding different results.

It will be available via Google Spotlight Stories and Google Cardboard app for the full VR experience.

Season 28 of The Simpsons premiered on ELEVEN last week.
