Well here’s a love story The Bachelor hadn’t planned on.

Two contestants, originally vying for the affections of Richie Strahan, have confirmed that they have fallen in love.

Megan Marx and Tiffany Scanlon told the Daily Mail they confessed their love for each other on holiday in Bali, Indonesia in June.

“While we were in the show, it was just a friendship. It probably wasn’t until we were in Bali together that it was like ‘Oh, this is more,’” Tiffany said.

“We had very different experiences when we were on the show. Obviously I found Tiffany very attractive but I was there to get to know Richie,” she said. “But instantly we knew there was a very strong connection. I was so excited to meet her in Bali.”

The couple revealed ‘no one seemed to notice’ they had become more than friends during that fateful holiday – and it took ‘months’ for anyone to find out.

“It started in June and it wasn’t until October that people noticed! So it was quite a long time,” Tiffany revealed.

The pair admitted their fellow contestants had a feeling something was going on between them during filming.

‘It’s been interesting talking to other girls on the show, because they just knew something was going on,’ Megan said.

Funny how none of that made the edit.

Congrats!

  1. If you’re going to sully your usually excellent blog with relationship goss, can it at least be current? I read about this more than 2 months ago.

I’m aware that you occasionally like to feature lighter articles but it might have been more pertinent to have also mentioned that the girls have been subjected to online trolling and bullying since confirming their relationship.

    1. The article notes they have now confirmed their status, with quotes, I’m not sure that was the case 2 months ago so I usually wouldn’t run romance speculation. I didn’t run Lyon / Brownless situation until it was confirmed by one of them. As a general rule I also usually only run it where it involves individuals from the same show anyway, as it can impact the show (Footy Show again). I am probably the only media still not to have run any posts involving Karl’s wife. In this case, I found it very telling that a developing romance was actually edited out of a reality romance show, so it was a reminder of reality manipulation. The trolling is a good point. Hope this paints a better picture than mere “relationship goss.”

      1. Fair ’nuff.

I guess we can debate the nuances of what “confirming the relationship” actually means. The Daily Mail is certainly claiming an “exclusive” regarding the girls confirming (in all caps) their relationship but OK Magazine had the story in their issue of 8 September with publicity announcing this at least a week prior.

Appreciate the irony of a genuine romance being ignored/suppressed on the show.

      2. “While we were in the show, it was just a friendship. It probably wasn’t until we were in Bali together that it was like ‘Oh, this is more,’” Tiffany said.

by their own admission nothing happened until after they had left the show, so how is it an example of reality manipulation?

jumping on the bag reality bandwagon David? get your fact straight or at least read your own article before making accusations.
