There’s still a week to go before summer non-ratings hit, but with many programmes having wound down it’s biting already.
Seven led the early timeslots last night with Seven News and Sunday Night before 60 Minutes took the lead at 8pm.
The X Factor‘s penultimate episode proved to be the top entertainment show at 665,000, lifting on last Sunday when it was hard up against The Block finale.
Grand Designs was on par with last week despite a later start following a Foreign Correspondent special on Donald Trump, and Poldark was up.
Modern Family was also up for TEN but its Noah movie failed.
Seven Network won Sunday with 32.9% then Nine 29.2%, ABC 16.9%, TEN 14.6% and SBS 6.4%.
Seven News was #1 with 963,000 for Seven then Sunday Night (766,000) and The X Factor (665,000).
Nine News (835,000) led for Nine followed by 60 Minutes (727,000), Christmas with the Australian Women’s Weekly (625,000) and The Amazing Noughties (435,000 / 243,000).
ABC News (784,000), Grand Designs (651,000), Foreign Correspondent: President Trump (620,000), Poldark (507,000), and Jamaica Inn (242,000) comprised ABC’s night. QI was 158,000.
Modern Family (475,000 / 456,000) led for TEN. All Star Family Feud was just 351,000. TEN Eyewitness News drew 338,000 and the Movie: Noah was just 179,000.
On SBS it was Raising Pompeii (264,000), Secrets of the Colosseum (224,000) and SBS World News (154,000). The Hollow Crown struggled on just 63,000.
7mate’s movie Guardians of the Galaxy was best on multichannels with 234,000.
OzTAM Overnights: Sunday 20 November 2016.

can i ask why no performances of the winner’s single on x factor happened last night?? usually the episode before the grand final they showcase their winner’s single. none in site. how do i know what song they’ll release if they win.
It will be tonight by the last 2 contestants standing.
Guessing 800K-900K viewers for tonight’s finale. Also think that the winner’s single won’t chart very well this year.
Only watched the XF to see Robbie Williams and he didn’t disappoint. Although, the guy he was singing with was absolutely woeful.
What was with Poldark last night? So Ross cheats on his wife and he expects her to be understanding? Very odd. Did not like last nights episode.
Xfactor was a great episode last nite , they all rose to the occasion , especially valado .. Channel 7 stuffed it up by making it a fast season , everyone I no gave up on it because I don’t get to see the grow in performances properly , defeats the purpose of the show . Ashame because it was my favourite judging panel , minus guy lol
A repeat of Modern family tops the demo’s, wow slim pickens it would appear.
Considering it is still ratings season, this is one of the most dismal Sunday nights in memory of end of year results, yet from your article on the interview on Planet Earth 2 with 9 CEO Hugh Marks last week, “But the great bulk of the population are still watching Live linear television. So we might lose some people.” I think the TV networks are losing more people than they care to admit!
i doubt the x factor will be back in 2017 but its rating this year.
X Factor may have improved but 665K can only be view as a complete disaster for the Grand Final performance episode of such an expensive show. I’d be surprised if the Final episode tonight cracks a million.
