Whose Line is it Anyway? Australia host Tommy Little drew surprised looks from Foxtel execs yesterday when he suddenly announced a second season at a media event in Melbourne.

Foxtel Director of TV Brian Walsh, Premium Entertainment Graham Burrells and Head of Production at Foxtel Josie Mason-Campbell, were all taken aback by the cheeky announcement, ahead of the show’s debut later this month.

“Walshy should I tell them now or should I wait?” he teased.

“I know you told me it’s not protocol to make the announcement now, but let’s just go for it. It’s a great time to announce we’ve been commissioned for a second series!’

“So if you wouldn’t mind just raising your glasses? To a second season!” he toasted.

Despite Little’s pre-emptive strike it’s understood the improvisation series featuring Cal Wilson, Tegan Higginbotham, Susie Youssef, Steen Raskopoulos, Bridie Connell and Tom Walker is yet to be formally renewed.

Whose Line is it Anyway? Australia premieres 7.30pm Sunday November 27 on Comedy.
