Golden Globe Awards 2017: nominees

The Crown, The Night Of, Westworld, This is Us, Stranger Things & The People vs. OJ. Simpson all up for Golden Globes.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced its nominees for the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards.

New entries include The Crown, The Night Of, Westworld, This is Us, Stranger Things and The People vs. OJ. Simpson.

Jimmy Fallon hosts the event on Sunday, Jan. 8 (US) from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

  1. The Crown definitely deserves to win best Drama – have just started watching on David’s recommendation and it is excellent.
    Agree with pietro that Claire Foy should win best actress in a television series for her outstanding portrayal of Queen Elizabeth.
    A shame that Matt Smith wasn’t nominated – he is absolutely brilliant as Prince Phillip.
    Wasn’t a fan of him as Doctor Who but he really shines in The Crown.
    Stranger Things is also a worthy contender – loved Series 1.
    I see Wynona Ryder has also been nominated for best actress in television series – thought she was terrible in Stranger Things. So whiney and annoying – a weak link amongst an otherwise fantastic cast.

  2. I can’t work out why they would put Musicals and Comedy in the same category. They are completely different genres. It’s like having a ‘Best Horror or Romantic Comedy’ category.
