For the second time in three days, Wide World of Sports commentator Mark Nicholas was taken to hospital with stomach pains during the Australia vs Pakistan test.
Nicholas, 59, had been taken to the Epworth hospital from the MCG on Monday after falling ill with a stomach complaint, was discharged but forced to rest at his hotel on Tuesday.
He returned to air on Wednesday and worked through the opening two sessions of play of the second Test between Australia and Pakistan before feeling ill. He required wheelchair assistance and was taken by ambulance from the MCG.
“Mark is taking leave to resolve his health issues,” a Nine spokesperson said yesterday.
“He wants to thank everyone again for their kind wishes and continued support.”

I’m pretty sure that while Nicholas takes leave, Slater will fill in as a host for the Sydney Test.
