Returning: Mozart in the Jungle

Season three of Golden Globe-winning series begins on Stan.

Season three of Mozart in the Jungle begins on Stan tomorrow, with all episodes available, just in time for summer viewing.

According to Stan, the third series is all about reinvention, with the New York Symphony Orchestra and management still at a stalemate in labour negotiations. It has been teased that this season is “a whole new tune”, which begins with the exploration of individual journeys. With the symphony under lockout, Maestro Rodrigo (Bernal) has accepted an offer to conduct the comeback performance of famed opera diva Alessandra (Bellucci) in Venice. At the same time, Hailey (Kirke) has been travelling the world on a less than smooth trip, and soon finds herself considering a new career path.

Mozart in the Jungle is a charming half-hour comedic drama that gives a peek behind the curtains of the fictional New York Symphony Orchestra. It stars Gael Garcia Bernal (Y Tu Mama Tambien, The Motorcycle Diaries), Lola Kirke (Mistress America, Fallen), Saffron Burrows (The Bank Job, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) Bernadette Peters (Ugly Betty, Pennies from Heaven) and Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, The Artist, Entourage). Also, Italian superstar Monica Bellucci (Spectre) guest stars this season.

Mozart in the Jungle won a Golden Globe Award in 2016 for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical and Bernal picked up a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical. The program also received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour).
